Strategic Priorities
Priority 1 – Continue to be the key organization representing, advocating and giving voice to dental hygienists and related health issues in Ontario.
Priority 2 – Capitalize on dental hygiene’s knowledge, skills and abilities by expanding the profession’s scope of practice, and educational, research and interprofessional opportunities.
Priority 3 – Enhance public awareness of dental hygiene and its connection to overall health while championing the goals of access, choice and affordability.

Our Organization

The ODHA is governed by a Board of Directors of eleven volunteers -- 7 regional directors and 4 directors-at-large. The Board meets twice a year in May and November.

The organizational system, or infrastructure, led by ambassadors in 21 districts, allows members to provide input that helps to establish policy and direction for their professional Association. This way, the Board takes it's direction from the grassroots - the membership.

The ODHA provides a full range of benefits and services that meet members' needs for personal and professional growth. These include professional development, advocacy, promotion of the profession, insurance plans, communication vehicles, and information on employment issues.

Located in Burlington, Ontario, the ODHA administrative staff includes a full-time executive director and four staff members.

The President of the ODHA serves a one-year term; elections are held at the annual general meeting in May.
